Google Forms migration
Switch the form first. Change the workflow deliberately.
Formfolk brings supported form structure into an unpublished draft, shows what changed, and leaves your existing Google Form untouched.
Last updated September 30, 2026
What comes across
- Form title and description
- Supported short-answer, paragraph, multiple-choice, checkbox, dropdown, date, file-question structure, and scale questions
- Answer options and required state
- Sections that can be moved safely
Only the file question itself is recreated; respondent uploads never move.
What to check before publishing
Google and Formfolk do not behave identically. File-upload constraints, scales, free-text “Other” options, quiz settings, email collection, and conditional routing may change or require a decision. Formfolk produces a migration report and keeps the new form unpublished until differences that prevent publishing are resolved.
What does not move
Historical responses, submitted files, collaborators, permissions, linked spreadsheets, automations, and existing links or embeds remain with Google. Formfolk does not modify the source form or request access to its responses.
A safe cutover
- Import the form and check its migration report.
- Adjust the new form and submit a test response.
- Connect a new Google Sheet or other delivery destination.
- Confirm the response and delivery state in Formfolk.
- Replace the old public link or embed.
- Keep an archive of historical responses and a temporary rollback path.
Google Forms import is currently in limited launch availability while Google completes review of Formfolk’s narrow read-only Forms permission. Email hello@formfolk.app to request access.
